In the heart of Helsinki is the classic restaurant and cafe Strindberg, which opened in the premises of a former art gallery in Helsinki in 1992. Both the street-level cafe and the restaurant on the second floor offer views of the wonderful Esplanadi park. In summer, the cafe’s menu can also be enjoyed on the terrace, and drinks and snacks are served all year round at the timeless and inviting library bar on the second floor. Dogs are also welcome in Strindberg.

On the second floor of Strindberg, classic dishes meet seasonal flavours in the heart of Helsinki.

From Monday to Saturday, the menu features much-loved Strindberg classics, from meatballs and chargrilled salmon to French toast, alongside seasonal à la carte dishes.

Overlooking the Esplanade, the restaurant offers a peaceful spot to enjoy good food and watch the city go by.

Cozy Library Bar

Located alongside Strindberg’s second-floor restaurant, our Library Bar is both vibrant and urban, yet wonderfully atmospheric – like a little hidden piece of old-world elegance in the heart of the modern city.

At Library Bar, you can enjoy everything from light bites to Strindberg restaurant classics. The bar also offers an extensive selection of drinks to suit every taste, from quality wines to delicious cocktails.

Come for a drink, stay for the atmosphere – alone or in good company.

Café Strindberg

Strindberg Café welcomes you from morning to evening. Start your day with breakfast, a croissant and a good cup of coffee, or stop by for something savoury or sweet throughout the day.

For lunch, the menu includes classics such as salmon soup, salads and warm sandwiches. You’ll also find some of Strindberg’s much-loved favourites in the display, including carrot cake and lemon meringue pie.

In the evening, stop by for a glass of wine or an aperitif before dinner. The large windows offer views over the Esplanade and the bustle of central Helsinki
